Wednesday, February 12, 2014 The New Market Fire Department is asking for your help with the upcoming storm. Prepare now!
Possible Nor'easter Wednesday night, February 12th, into Thursday, February 13th, with snow accumulations of 8-12 inches.
There are no travel restrictions at this time; however, it is advised that you not travel during the storm unless absolutely necessary.
Please do not call Police Communications/9-1-1 about your street not being plowed for the upcoming storm. DPW will get to your street once the snow stops and all the main arteries are clear. To help with the street clearing process, the Township is asking that you remove any vehicles from the side of the road. Any vehicle parked on an Emergency Snow Route or state highway is subject to a ticket and will be towed at the owner's expense.
Misuse of 9-1-1 is against the law. Those caught making the call can and will be prosecuted. 9-1-1 is for life threatening emergencies only!
If you have a fire hydrant near your residence or business, the Fire Departments of Piscataway ask that you help them out and clear the area around the hydrant in case of an emergency.
In the event you experience a power outage, be sure to contact your service provider (PSE&G: 1-800-436-7734; Jersey Central Power & Light: 1-888-544-4877).
Spread the word to family, friends and neighbors and sign up with Nixle for free alerts sent to your phone/e-mail directly from Piscataway Township.
